Expert Report Shows Underground Transmission Lines are Safer and Stronger

Underground Power Lines Safer, Stronger

The news that underground transmission lines won’t cause bushfires, won’t get knocked over in a storm and leave thousands powerless and won’t destroy an entire farming industry should surprise no one. It shouldn’t take a small regional Council to commission a study to prove the obvious – underground power lines are safe, strong and efficient. Now that Moorabool Shire Council has done AusNet’s homework, the State Government should do its own. Overhead powerlines caused the worst of the Black Saturday bushfires and are the reason thousands of residents in the Dandenong Ranges are still without power.

The State Government needs to Stop AusNet’s Towers.
